Purpose:
|
|
In line with the aims and objectives, The Association of Sri Lankan Graduates of Canada (ASGC) is launching a mentorship program to render all possible assistance to Canadian and foreign graduates of Sri Lankan heritage to gain access into their professions to suit their education and experience.
|
How does it work?
|
|
The ASGC builds up a list of volunteers who are senior professionals currently employed and have many years of work experience in Canada. Each of the mentees will be assigned to one such expert in his or her profession or field of study for guidance until the mentee gets a suitable job. The guidance may include, but not limited to recommendation of suitable part time courses for upgrading the credentials, preparation of job application documents, showing the procedures involved in getting membership with the appropriate professional body, connecting to a network of professionals to tap the hidden jobs, continuously monitoring the graduate’s success and modifying the strategy until the mentee gets a suitable job in the specific profession

Who is eligible to apply for mentorship program?
|
|
A person of Sri Lankan heritage with a degree or diploma earned from Canadian or foreign university is eligible for this program.
