Centenary Hospital Fund Raising Event 2001

 

As an appreciation of the services rendered by the Centenary Hospital to Scarborough residents, The Association of Sri Lankan Graduates of Canada,conducted a fund raising event on Saturday July 28, 2001 with an objective of helping the 
Centenary Health Centre Foundation which needs funds to purchase medical equipment for the clinical programs. The event commenced from 10 am and went on till 5 pm at the Dominion mall parking area located near the Neilson Road - Ellesemere Road intersection and across the road from the Centenary Hospital . 

Major activities of fund collection were manual car wash and collection of to the Universities in the North and East of Sri Lanka. More than 50 members of the Association and their families participated at the event. 

According to the executive committee of the Association, there was a good public support shown with a continuous flow of cars moving into the car wash area. About 90 cars were washed and many used text books and journals were collected at this event. Arrangements have been made to send these books to University of Jaffna. The list of books collected at this events could be viewed here.
